re: Article: Why Texas was so confident they'd get Nick Saban

Hey, earlier in the week I was all about pointing out the difference between coming to an agreement on terms and having actually signed the extension. You're the only Bammer I've seen who actually understands that, so I'll give credit where it's due in your case. +1 Every other mouthbreathing, Finebaum acolyte swears up and down that the extension has been signed, so kudos to you for standing out from the pack.
Where it gets entertaining is seeing just how frothy the average Bama fan gets at the mere intimation that their Dark Lord and Savior couldn't possibly have his head turned by Texas, to the tune of doubling his salary. If he and Terry were sooooooo in love with Tuscaloser and were sooooooooo changed as human beings after the tore-NAY-da - (Remember, "Some things matter more to Saban than money) - then why didn't he stay at the same salary and insist that the $2-2.5M bump he just agreed to go to buy new cinder blocks from Home Depot to re-prop up the trailers that were knocked over in 2011?
Provided, of course, that money doesn't matter to him, like many of y'all have had your kids type for you on this forum. If that's not true, however. If Saban plans on keeping the extra $2-2.5M, then can we agree that additional cash does indeed show up on his radar, and that if your current employer offers you a 50% raise, you'd be a fool not to take it?
I'm down with taking that approach if y'all are, but by your own arguments at that point, he'd be an even bigger fool not to take TWICE his salary if offered by another school.

Such poignant analysis. Thanks for adding to the conversation. Make sure you put something in your ears to keep the sand out when you put your head back down.

Saban won't lose credibility, if he takes an offer to better himself financially. People need to get a grip . I love what Saban did for LSU. Booing him is silly.

The power of poon will make a man do crazy things. Terry is in Nick's ear begging him to save her from the hell of Tuscaloosa.

Maybe the two schools could switch. Mack to Bama

Well if it's money, it just boils down to whether or not Texas is willing to pay 15 mil a year.
Anything less, probably won't get it done. Bama's good till at least 12-13 mil if that's what it takes.

I know YOU are probably trolling (at least I hope you are) but a lot of your fellow LSU fans honestly believe this. My relative (who won't even fly an Alabama flag in his yard) lives on the north shore of NOLA in a neighborhood with school flags representing most of the SEC. In other words, he goes out of his way not to mix football and business. He's a manager and works with LSU employees as well as LSU attorneys who flat out tell him with a straight face how bad Terry hates it in Tuscaloosa. I've never seen another fanbase claim to know the inner most feelings of the wife of a former coach like LSU fans.

Want to know how we know that is complete and utter nonsense? They actually wrote this

That's the thing about it that the gumps are in denial about. He's lived through worse than this and I'm pretty sure he has been fine with the results since the last time he told some whoppers before jumping ship. You put this much money on the table and I'm betting he wouldn't think twice about it. He'll be sleeping like a baby on a pile of benjamins.

I always love the ex girlfriend psycoanalyzing Saban

Not sure why Saban leaving for more $$$ is shocking. Almost all of us would bolt for our current jobs for 20% more money. This is the standard rule of thumb in my business for moving jobs.
Why should Saban be any different?

But Katy, it's not even in the realm of possibility for Saban to leave. At all. EVAR. That's what they've been trying to tell us all along, and consequently why their thongs get knotted whenever anyone even remotely hints at the possibility that Nick Saban - paragon of honesty, integrity and transparency would ever leave Tuscalooser.

Nick loves T-town. Would never consider leaving. Why you so damn mad about it?
