Arizona baseball was eliminated on June 21st. Johnson was announced on June 24th.

This tells me Scott probably has his guy but it won’t be until next Monday or Tuesday once the CFP is announced.
If so, who are the likely candidates:
Gundy
Fickell
Kelly
If it’s not a coach possibly being in the CFP, why not announce the new coach today? Makes no sense if he is out of the CFP picture

Of maybe he waits until after the CFPs are over and then waits until after the Super Bowl?

I think any coach competing for a conference championship would NOT want his new job leaked or announced until after next Saturday's games at the earliest. I think your list needs to be expanded.

Because lsu was sent scrambling last night around 11 pm when the guy they thought they had locked up said he wasn’t coming…possibly
