That's certainly a theory that I'm buying into this evening.
Michigan admins don't want to hire Miles. Michigan fans are going to riot if they hire Hoke and not Miles. Miles camp leaks to ESPN that "Miles will accept if offered."
Michigan either A)gets baited into offering Miles or B)looks bad when they don't offer/hire Miles....Win-win for Miles

Les would not have the AD at his house for tea and crumpets if not to discuss the particulars of accepting the job.

That's kind of the point. Les wants the job. Michigan has no choice but to pursue - or at least appear to pursue - Miles.
And hence, the meeting.
However, Les called their bluff by leaking to the media that he would accept the job if offered.

Ultimately, the one who chooses the coach is the AD. Our AD, Dave Brandon and Les Miles are "Schembechlers". Lloyd's boys won't have much of an input on this one...THANK GOD.

OK....time to come back to reality.
MSC is in Carr clique from all accounts, and several memeber of the board/powerful boosters.
Just so happens the President and Board must approve all hires.

I think MSC has seen a little bit of Lloyd she doesn't like, aged. I do believe Brandon has been given a bit more latitude and that latitude could only come from MSC. Just my humble 2 cents.
