Apparently Urban Meyer hired Steve Addazio for Colorado State

Read an Denver Post article saying the search to replace Mike Bobo was driven entirely by Urbs.
I know Urban was a CSU assistant a long time ago but what a strange situation.

Addazio was OC for Meyer at UF his last two years. TEs, then OL & AHC prior to that. He came in to UF with Meyer, and left when Meyer "retired".
Despite the recommendations from Urban and having Tebow... lol, I think Addazio sucks.

Urban Meyer wanted Addazio to replace him when he originally retired in 2009. He came back because Foley reached out to Stoops who would've sent Addazio packing. It's well known that 2010 was Addazio's audition and he handled the HC position at UF.

Basically some rich CSU booster was like beer buddies with Urban. Nothing even close or significant. Rich booster basically flexed and made sure Urban picked the Coach.

I think Urbs is tight with Sonny Lubbick & that's where his involvement came in.
