You can't just decide to play defense only after getting your arse kicked a few times. I don't care if they only score 70 against the next three teams. I want to see LSU really shut those opponents down on the defensive end.

What improvements are we talking about here?

I'll admit I may be biased because I like the personalities I see so far on this team better than the personalities of a couple players from last years team. Maybe it's a case of my perception being my reality.

I'm also cutting this team some slack because they are so young and seem to lack the star talent of last years team. Last years team had the talent to be very good and struggled to achieve mediocrity most of the time.

shite, the more I type, the more I realize LSU CAN'T let Alleva hire another basketball coach!!!!

Now you're fricking talking. The first firing HAS to be Alleva. I can't see how the time frame would work for Alleva to be fired in time for JJ to be fired and another coach hired while also hiring another AD. Seems unlikely at this point.

I'm not sure that Stansbury is the answer. It would be nice to have an up and comer, but Stansbury would be an upgrade on our current coach.

Jones is not the answer. Just from this year, we looked like a junior college team against WSU. VCU cleaned our clock. We only beat North Florida by 8 points and could've easily lost the game. The same North Florida team was beaten by 17 by Auburn, 38 by Miami and 31 by Florida!

I don't think that many would say they can easily remember games that Jones clearly out coached his opponent. His substitutions, adjustments, demeanor, and game management more often draw bemusement than praise. National media seem to dismiss our coach when discussing the SEC.

Jones has improved the program since he has taken over from Johnson, but it is time to move onward and upward, IMO.
