These people are morons...Kelly is a very good coach. They are just trying to go against the grain in crapping on him.

I'll take a coach who gets on his kicker about missing a 55 yard field goal in the snow

Never said Kelly wasn't a good coach. What I have been saying is Cincy is not in any way an indicator that he would be successful at ND, or any other high profile position. Big East is no better than the Mountain West. Kelly has similar talent to Utah, BYU etc.
He may be the greatest coach EVER. Who knows but coaching at Cincy isn't the greatest indicator. Certainly doesn't merit a jump to ND.

Cincinnati's schedule is rated 77th, not counting Pitt.
LSU's schedule was 18th in the nation.
Therefore, I am not impressed by the Cincinnati (momentarily) unblemished record.
There are only 113 teams in D 1-A BCS.
So Cincinnati's opponents (77th overall) were not even equal to the mid-point of mediocrity. They are less than mediocre.
I had Pitt to win this game. Halftime Pitt is up.
I suppose the big plus on Kelley is that he is after south Ohio guys that THE Ohio State U used to commandeer completely.
Do we suppose Kelley would rove up to South Ohio to recruit guys to LSU?
Onward.

For Sure.
Quick facts about Cinci this year/the past few years
1) Brian Kelly has won 10+ games for three years in a row there. The Rant slobbered all over Les when he did this at a MUCH MUCH better program.
2) Brian Kelly returned 1 starter from his defense last year. Let that sink in. Most people who lose 4or 5 starters consider it a huge lose. He lost 10.... in one year.
3) Brian Kelly lost his starting QB partway through the season and still managed to stay undefeated with his second string QB.(The original starter is back again now.)
4) Brian Kelly's team rolled up Oregon St. the second best team in the second best conference AT Oregon St. this year. For all the shitting on their schedule they were 3 points away from beating a BCS bowl team, which is much better than any of LSU's wins this year.
5) Its fricking Cinci.
6) Its only halftime.

We all agree Saban is a good coach, and Richt SPANKED him in 2004 at Georgia (48-15). It happens.

Who has he ever beat? Ever? He sucks - but go ahead and defend him based on your regurgitation of the media pundits.

There is a decent argument the Big East is the third best conference in America. Don't believe me go check the computer rankings(Which don't have a frick the Big East point of view).
They could be anywhere from 3rd-5th in terms of conference standings this year. Everything beyond the SEC and PAC 10 is clusterfrick, but you can't say the ACC, Big 10, Big XII, or MWC is clearly better.

nope...always thought he was overated on here the rants butt buddy is showing what happens when he plays a decent team
He rolled up the second best team from the second best conference at their own place earlier this year.

Explain to me why I should be impressed by a guy who gets beat by the good guys on his schedule. By that argument yall should be pumped about les, and dont give me the "its cinncinati" crap-He walked into a great situation paved by Dantonio and Ohio has great talent to recruit yeah they get OSUs leftovers but those leftovers are still going to be decently talented. If you want Harbaugh then I can understand that-hes turned around a program with crazy academic standards in a real conference but Kelly is way overated.

an offense with average players with great coaching = good offense
a defense with average to bad players with any coaching still = bad defense
you cant just build a defense with shitty players. the defense is always at a disadvantage
average offensive players can be made into a great offense with smart, intelligent screens, slants, quick routes, and play action.

Because he actually beat a good team this more(More than you can say as an LSU fan), and he's at fricking Cinci.

Simply telling me not to use an argument, isn't itself a logical argument BTW.

tOSU's leftovers, which are then picked over by Penn St., which are then picked over by Michgian, which are then picked over Michigan St., which are then picked over by Tennessee, which are then.....
Plus he walked into a situation left from a good coach who never managed have fewer than 5 losses there. Kelly has never had more than 3.

Ok, but not really.

I'd take him over Les Miles man.

Pitt is probably the best team in the Big East. Outside of two/three Big East teams, year in and out there are not any others that can really compete on a BCS level with regularity. Cincy is a bunch of undersized football players running a very good offensive scheme.

Ok? That is really irrelevant this year. Considering everyone in the Big XII except Texas has choked on a dick. The ACC championship was decided between two 7-5 SEC teams in September. Iowa(
The Big East is a legit conference right now. WVU is not a bad third place team with.

It was just a joke because they are getting beat by the best stache in college football. I think Kelly is a quality coach.
Posted on 12/5/09 at 1:10 pm to LSUSUPERSTAR
The Stache has done a damn strong job at Pitt.
