No disprespect to them, but I thought they knew their limiations. I don't know if it was Boise's run last year or what. From the outside looking in,Bower seems like a good guy with usually a pretty good team.

Unless they get in the SEC one day, they never will draw real well at home nor get a big 'name' coach. What was the deal in Hattiesburg ?

I'm glad LSU wasn't dumb enough to follow your logic. After Archer, Hallman and Dinardo, LSU realized they needed to make changes. Just like Archer and Dinardo, Bower had some good years early. But, since Nix left, he has underachieved.

Loss to Rice at home. 7-5 with the SOS at 118. It was time for a change. If he was so good, why not get him here when Miles leaves?

All alumini I have talked too think it was mistake. AD is the real problem and he went into panic after no onw showed up at last game they day after Thanksagiving.

No underlying story ....so far. I stepdad said we would consider the job but it is not much aof a step up from Parkview Baptist, (JK)

He got paid less than most SEC OCs.

Shared a beer with a member of the Coaching staff last night and it basically comes down to the fact that the Administartion wanted more wins and wants to have a Louisville-type program, however Bower's record and his graduation rate didn't count for much. Bower's contended that if you want to be Louisville, UCF etc.. that you have to make the financial commitmet. MM Roberts is not Papa Johns and the Basketball program is not led by a guy named Pitino

I'm an alumni...my husband is an alumni...Anastasia Beaverhausen is an alumni...and everyone we know is quite happy with the decision. Ultimately, though, the paltry alum like us don't matter. This was the year that the big donors finally stepped up and said "Hey, we've got the money...make this happen" and it did.
