I'll admit he's not some cutesy "flavor of the day," but he's a solid football coach who will win at LSU.

This ^^^^^^
I have always disliked ND. So that bled over into not like Kelly. He can be a little jerkish as well in interviews and the sidelines.

Combatting it? I'm openly embracing it. The guy and his staff got a kid killed over a football practice.

Yes. Glad I'm not alone here

Also can't help but feel like we hired a Yankee Jimbo. Staying positive though.

Kelly might not be the coach we wanted, but he's the coach we need.

LSU's main problem recently has been the culture surrounding it. Too many selfish players that act like the university owes them something. Opting out for bowls, games, or even whole seasons. Minor injuries becoming career ending when a player has a draft spot locked up. Guys leaving too soon for the NFL, that would rather play on a practice squad than try to improve their draft stock. Too many outside voices like Ryan Clark that dont know their role. The NIL stuff is going to become a circus very soon. Players transferring in and out. (i know most of this is just college football in 2021, but LSU seems to suffer from it more than most).

(Notice how the team played better late in the season after losing some of the more talented but selfish players.)

LSU needs a no nonsense hard nosed guy that will focus on rebuilding the program from the ground up. Not chasing the ghosts of 2019 or trying to catch lightening in a bottle with revolving door coordinators.

This is a very good hire for LSU.

He’s the most accomplished football coach LSU has ever hired. He dwarfs the accomplishments of any coach LSU has ever hired.

I don’t like Notre Dame either because, as with a Bama, I think they always get every benefit of the doubt when it comes to being awarded bowl or playoff spots or other “name’ benefits. Having said that, this guy can be seen as nothing but a home run hire if you look at it objectively. imo
