Won't happen this year or possibly the next - the 'one good year at SMU' sales pitch has officially been used up by Chad. He gets most starters back next year, so it's pretty much the same problem, though he'll get some looks in '20 if he wins the conference.

But if he manages to win in '21 he'll have his pick of offers if he wants.

Someone will offer, but Dykes probably realizes how good he has it. That family thrives with their Texas connections, aside from that whole Ford suing them thing, and I think he’s smart enough to realize he ain’t gonna do better.

SMU has plenty of potential to be a G5 power house. Recruiting hotbed. Great transfer destination. Fun city. Tons of cocaine. Any coach that realizes this is smart to stay where they are.

He’d be smart to stay at SMU and turn that into a for-life gig

It’s gonna be Skip Holtz. He had La Tech 8-1 and then benched him for 2 games. He called Lou and said, “Daddy, I’m headed to the Hill!!!”.

That & his defenses were historically bad

He also wasn’t recruiting well, was really a bad fit for California
