Bud Foster. Don't know that he would leave VT, but his name was mentioned.

why?? i know tech loves him to death. But if he ever wants a head coaching job getting here in the sec and improving our defense would go a long way to a head coaching gig.

when he came to tiger stadium last year, do you think he was impressed?

No way he leaves VT. Only HC job he would want is VT's if Beamer were to step down.

I would take Foster in a heartbeat.

And you know, Beamer just nixed any sort of "coach-in-waiting" deal for Foster. AD mentioned it a while back and Beamer said, on radio, "bad idea".

I don't think the odds are high, but I wouldn't rule out the possibility Foster is in play for another job at some point.

It's not even so much that Tech loves him as much as he loves Beamer. He's been with him for almost 30 years and has had opportunities to leave. I just don't see him making a lateral move, even it was for more money. VT would likely match what anyone else offered. He's probably in line to take if/when Beamer hangs it up, but that's a total guess on my part.

If he were a legit candidate, he would automatically move into my top 2, maybe No.1. But that's a pipe dream.

Bud Foster will NOT LEAVE VT. He is the hier to the VT job when Beamer steps down in 3 years.

This thread belongs on the Rant. Foster is not coming to LSU. Neither is Belichek or Sylvester Croom as DC.

i'd take chavis and walker above him

would have taken rhoads, but he's off the market

foster is a great DC for a conference like the ACC. i don't know if he could have the same success in a better conference

the ACC is just so offense-deprived

I love you people that think you really know what Foster or any other coach would do. Is is likely that he leaves? No. But to say he won't is dumb. Some of you don't know your asses from a hole in the ground.

it seems people are just pulling names out their asses. Could the final hire be someone not mentioned on this board? Who would have guessed the Miss state or Auburn hires?

I couldn't imagine VT without Bud Foster. They would suck without him. There offense is pathetic!
