Do you folk actually believe that either Spurrier or Saban would actually come to LSU?
Personally, I see no reason for either.
I have heard the same rumors that you have and the speculation is interesting and fun but do you really believe they would intertain the notion of coming?
I believe the best candidate is Brian Kelly and that we would have a good shot at him.
Now, Flame Away!!

We always throw out big names when LSU looks for a new coach. Never seems to pan out.

We got Dinardo, Saban, Miles so I expect something similiar this time.

Because I had a picture of Arnsparger you think I'm old too?

Pure genius how you put that together!

Totally wrong, but genius!!

i think that both would be interested but question whether: (1) LSU would be interested and (2) whether they would actually come if offered.

Honestly, in every post I have read that you committed on the possiblity of a coaching candidate for LSU it has been negative. I just naturally assumed that you had someone of Arnspargers age and ability in mind. So, why don't you make a suggestion of whom you think the next coach should be, just in case we need one.

I have been negative on Kelly and Chow (USC guy, don't think he would stay here long)

I would be happy with, in no particualr order:
Spurrier
Saban
Rodriguez
DelRio
(I think the possibilty of any of these are slim)
I would be OK with
Muschamp
Tubberville
I don't even waste my time thinking about
Parcells
Cowher
Others like them
(Never take the job, but people still list them as possibilities)

In short, I have no idea who they will get, am hopeful for one of my favorites, and just wish it were over!

"...just wish it were over!"
Well, we do agree on one thing!
I would have no problem with any on your list, just the fact that getting any of the top three would be tough. Del Rio is also a stretch. Muschamp would be especially intersting if he could translate his energy to the players.

I agree...it is always about timing. The next coach will be successful because he has good talent to work with.

Anyone think Schiano from Rutgers would be a good choice? I'm not too sure. Just thought I would throw the name out there because I don't think I have seen him mentioned as of yet.

We have all said it before on here that LSU goes after a big name and winds up hiring a lesser known name. Now, with that being said, I like what Bill King said on Rivals Radio yesterday. He stated that a young and up and coming coach with a lot of passion and drive to take the program to the next level and also prove what he can do would be a great choice. So, if you think along these lines some good candidates would be:

Chris Peterson - Boise St.
Brian Kelly - Cincy
Randy Edsall - UCONN

My choice would be Peterson b/c with his offense and LSU's talent can you imagine that in the SEC! All he needs is a good DC and LSU would be nasty for years to come!
