2) If a new defensive coordinator isn't chosen before the NC game.....Miles would not want to hire a DC if he knows he will bolt to Michigan...being able to keep Bo even as a lame duck is perfect for him. He could hire a new DC now and bring him on to help with recruiting and game planning. Now is the time to get them because coaches are scrambling for jobs and the longer one waits.....If he hires a new DC soon, then its less likely he is planning a move.

Means nothing. If Tenuta is Miles' man, he'll have to wait until Tenuta finishes coaching Ga. Tech as interim HC in their bowl game.

Michigan A.D. comments

“This morning I did speak with Les’ agent and he reaffirmed what Les said during his press conference yesterday — that he was staying at LSU.

“We wish Les and the LSU Athletic Department the best of luck in the future,” Martin said. “As for Michigan, we are continuing with the process we established and will continue to talk with and research our list of candidates.”

You think this still leaves open the door? Sounds to me like they're moving on...

I truly believe the Miles staying concept is true but until the contract is signed....I won't truly rest.

In that case, you won't rest until at least January 8th for him to sign it. Why sign a contract and then have to sign a new one after the NC game, if we win. If he were to sign this one now, it will be rewritten after the NC Game, if we win.

Even if he signed this one it wouldn't mean he was or wasn't going to sign with Michigan on January 8th or thereafter.

I believe the man when he says he is Absolutely going to coach LSU next season.

"I love the University of Michigan. It's a great place. I'll always support them in any way I can. But I'm not going there. It saddens me at times.

I'm already in a great place, and I can't be in two places at once. I'm home."

The above is not verbatim, but it's pretty close.

We can take this honorable man at his word - it's as good as any signed contract.

He is not Nick Saban. He is a much wiser man who fully realizes what he already has and knows the grass is not always greener. He also knows you can't always go back to your old home, after you have made a great new home for yourself and your family.

Coach Miles loves LSU, and he has decided his new Louisiana home is where he now belongs. He will feel a little sad and nostalgic at times, but he has made a tough, but final, break with his past home at Michigan.

And with his impressive 3-year start at LSU, Les Miles is positioned to create his own "Bo Schembechler legacy" right here in Baton Rouge.

Thank you, Coach Miles for being who you are. It is a great honor for LSU and the State of Louisiana that you have chosen to call this home.

most contracts don't need to be written... in fact most are verbal.

If he went to UM after all this, there is no where for him to hide.

Yes. The AD at Michigan in today's Advocate put it to rest. He says that Miles' agent told him that Miles' is staying at LSU. He wished Miles luck and it is clear that Michigan is moving on. Gee whiz. What is not to understand?

Again....I don't care what the Michigan Ad says.....It ain't over until they hire a new coach.....if it drags on for some reason....watch out because Michigan is such a high profile job, there is NO WAY they should have 2 wait 3 weeks to hire someone!!!! The longer they go without making a hire...the more we should suspect Miles is not out of the question. I believe Miles may have decided he's staying but I can see this happening....

Its Jan 8th and for whatever reason, Michigan still hasn't made a decision on its next HC. They have interviewed a few candidates and are close to making a hire but still nothing...then, they decide as a last ditch effort to go after Miles with a smaller offer-but not much...and Miles suddenly has an emotional shift....this would be especially easier if he brings a NC to LSU. Then he could say "its not about the money..and I intended to be here but I have had a change of heart...I have accomplished my goals here and now I would like to accept the challenge of bringing a NC to my alma mater"....

Yes....Michigan, quit dragging your feet and hire a coach.....prove me WRONG!!!!
