I think Muschamp would be awesome but I don't think he wants his first gig to be in the SEC, which I why I think he left for Texas.

You need someone who is a great recruiter and can bring new excitement to the program. If I were AU, here is who would be on my list:

Tim Brewster (great recruiting at Minnesota)

Lane Kiffin- don't really know how he is as a coach but we know he's a good recruiter

Mike Leach (awesome O would attract top athletes and counter Saban's D in the Iron Bowl)

I forgot where Brewster came from- but he took over at Minnesota after they fired Glen Mason. Nobody gave a crap in Minnesota about the team. He had a rough first year, but he's been able to get players to come there. The team has made a dramatic improvement this year and he's got a very good class coming in.

A lot of folks are saying he's the darkhorse for the Tenn job.

From afar:

1- He aint leaving TT for AUbie anytime soon. Why would he compete in the SEC when he can win in the Big 12?

2- Horrible fit. AUbie and Kiffen are not a good match whatsoever. WOuld be run off quicker than Mike Price was

3- Don't know enough on him, sorry

4- I think he goes somewhere with less expectations than Aubie. But could work, knows the school and fan base

5- Not a good fit either. I don't think he is SEC quality IMHO. Not saying he's a bad coach, but I would put LM,UM,NS,MR above him from jump.

IMHO, you need to simma down ova there in AubieLand. Step back from the ledge and give TT anotha season at the least. See if he can turn it around with the quicknest

He would have a much better pay at Auburn, and much better resources for hiring a staff and recruiting at Auburn as well as much better facilities (for example texas tech set an attendence record the other night with 56,000 people). He wanted a contract extension before the season (his current one only goes through 2010...the usual is 5 years). He would have increased competition and increased expectations, but the Big 12 aint exactly a cake walk these days and like i said texas tech for some reason would not give him an extension.

Charlie Weatherbie would be my only choice if I was Auburn's AD. He beat Bama with ULM talent. It's a no brainer. I say go for it.

Whoever it is the guy needs to live and breathe football 24/7.He should be ok with turning Saban and bama in for their illegal recruiting practices He has to be a guy that can get any coordinator to come to AUBURN.

Yeah you are right about Brewster...have you taken a look at his first class last year at Minnesota? After a 1-11 season he got the 17th ranked class by rivals...but the most impressive thing about the class is where the kids are from. He got two 4 stars from california, a 4 star from texas, kids from florida, georgia, arizona, virginia, New York, Indianan, Kentucky, Mississipi, Illinois, Missouri, Pennslyvania and Kansas. Thats pretty amazing considering it was his first class and he had gone 1-11 and he is getting those kids to go to the frozen tundra of Minnesota.
