I recognize that Crowton can't do much without a good QB but the dude should prob move on regardless. His play calling has flat sucked at times.

I say hire a new OC and give crowton a one year scholarship so he can learn an offense!

He is such a handcuff, that I think it would just be too much to ask to get to double digit wins.
It's too much to ask to be ranked in the top 90 in total offense.

I doubt very seriously that Crowton gets a new contract at LSU...He has to be looking for a new job.
no way he should with the last place offense in the conference the last 2 years and one of the worst in the nation. i kinda saw the "one more chance" thing last year but he repeated with a lousy offense and continued confusion on the field and the sideline. miles really can't afford to keep him at this point.

i agree miles needs to step up and get rid of crowton before the bowl game if possible

I doubt that happens. Not with Miles history and the way he treats his assistants.

is asking for sean payton too much?

.....and IMO, I don't think Miles can afford another season like that. In a sense, Crowton probably is the key to Miles' job.
This. i think they wanted that article to get out so if he does decide to go with Crowton. they both are on the chopping block. Les saved his job with Miracle wins all year long and I am glad he did so. I like Miles. But if he chooses to settle on a mediocre offensive corrdinator then he gets what he deserves.
Even with a 5th year QB we lost 2 games that season on route to teh national championships. Are playing calling got bland at times during that run and we had some close calls as well.

Hold up guys, I am of the opinion though very uninformed that Miles will keep Crowton. He can argue the record and cohesiveness of the program.
Don't be surprised if nothing changes in 2011

He's going to give him the opportunity to snag one of these openings, either as a lower tier HC (UL-L, just as an example) or as an OC at a mid-tier (Colorado?) so he doesn't have the stigma of being fired. Miles is a classy guy and this is the right way to treat people. Long-term that's great, because it's not as much of a chance for somebody to come in - if it doesn't work out - Miles can't control the fans dragging you through the mud, but at least he won't. LSU fans are never happy anyway.
Good luck to Crowton. He's done a fine job recruiting and we all owe him gratitude for 2007, at least.

I'm the kind of guy who likes to call out what play I think we are gonna run on offense before we snap the ball, and after missing only one game this season, I can confidently say I was correct 50% of the time.
It's pathetic

I don't see any reason for positivity in this story. Miles has a history of standing up for his assistants. If no one makes Miles replace the offensive staff, my confidence is low that he will do so.
