Tennessee will be in Florida to talk to him tomorrow and Boston College is said to offer $2 million a year. Does anyone think Golden leaves? I don't want him to.

I don't want Tennessee to have him. He's the next great coach IMO

Yeah, I saw that. I wouldn't consider him a credible source even though he is close to the program. He wouldn't know before we know in my opinion.

People dump on Al Golden (by people I mean Vol fans) because he has an overall losing record, but he walked into an absolute garbage program at Temple, which had been thrown out by the freaking BIG EAST for being so embarrassing. His overall record is dragged down by his first few years there, but it was Golden who laid the groundwork for Temple to return to the Big East. He did great things there.

His work at Miami is more questionable, and I understand that. He's a defensive guy and his defenses have not been good. But I think the guy is a solid coach.

I mean, Brady Hoke had a losing record when he was hired by Michigan and he's working out already.

I agree. Thats why I want UT to have him.

Bama needs UT to beat them up once a year.

Please, please, please let this be true for UT. I cannot wait to watch him take that Tenn home state talent full of 2-3*'s and attempt to develop them. In my best Bart Scott voice, "can't wait".

Golden has been talked about a lot on talk radio here. At least considering college football is rarely a hot topic here with the Heat, Marlins, and Dolphins all getting a lot more airtime.

Still, Golden is loved here and very highly respected. The debate this morning was whether he would be basically "quitting" on his contract if he left, but the host took the side that this was not what he agreed to when he took the Miami job (pending probation).

Anyway, I think Golden is a great coach and would be a solid hire for anyone.

Hope Tennessee decides they don't want him and he goes to BC. He's a great young coach IMO.

Al Golden has a career record of something like 6-35 against .500 or better teams. He's a terrible coach.

He walked into an absolute shite storm and managed to get bowl eligible in both years along with 2 top 10 classes with sanctions looming. He earned a spot in the ACCCG playing only freshman and sophomores. What's questionable about his work at Miami?

How good of a job would someone else do at Temple or a program like Miami with the NCAA right above you?

I am pretty sure that Golden got an extension and a raise with a huge buy-out when the job @ his alma mater opened up. I think Miami inked him to an extra five years.
