I would have been 100% behind a Mike Gundy hire but T. Boone will pony whatever's needed to keep him. And Gundy's an oSu alum. But damn he's good and could be great at a different school

If true, there's yet another team with a better head coach than Dooley.

He called a team meeting tonight, which caused people to think he was saying his goodbyes. But he actually just went over the holiday schedule.

We won't be the best defensive team in the SEC. So get an offensive coach and recruit the Texas speed. Texas doesn't pump out DL and ILBs to fit the SEC mold. Do what we do and do it well, so to speak.

You will lose and lose badly with that attitude. Just saying.

It's been shown time and time again, that the style of offense A&M is accustomed to running will not work on a consistent basis in the SEC.

You better get a defense and worry about the offense later, or you can try to be pretty and "safe" and get your arse handed to you for the next for years.

People far smarter than us are making this decision and they've decided to not try a square peg in a round hole.

Let us be ok now and work for good. Hire a defensive guy now who runs ball control to protect his defense and we will lose every game and recruiting will suffer.

Idiot. The admin is not as smart as you think. This is the same administration that not even a year ago realized that the SEC move was wanted and supported by Aggies until they said they were staying and had to unplug their phones because of the ruckus. They are like you. Unchanged. They are doing the same shite they would have done for mediocrity in the Big 12 and now we are in an even tougher conference that will eat us alive. And you, like all good Aggies rationalize like a champion because otherwise, the crushing truth is that we are barely a big deal. Outside Texas, we are virtually indistinguishable from program like TCU and Tech. Don't believe me? A&M did a study and found that out, a big reason for pushing to the SEC. No one really knows we are a Tier-1 research university or #2 for best graduates according to the WSJ. You would talk about the glory days under Jackie and RC. Jackie cheated his arse off and never won a title. RC is our winningest coach and he isn't even over .500 against ranked teams. Death Valley as of now is louder than Kyle. We have never been a big deal. We won't be until we stop doing the same shite we have always done. This is college footballs sleeping giant. Sumlin won't awaken it and Peterson is at best, doubtful.

The problems with Sumlin are:

1)He is Sherman 2.0: he runs his offenses historically in the same manner (air raid).

2)The only good recruit he's ever had is Adrian Peterson. Also, he's not the head of recruiting at UofH (A HEAD COACH THAT DOESN'T RECRUIT).

3)His defense has never breached the top 50% while he has been a head coach.

4)He is going to bring his subpar coaching staff with him (including Kliff Kingsbury reportedly, hello Leach air raid). This means we will lose Trey Williams because Randy Jordan will be let go.

5)His marquee wins were OSU in 2006 & 2009 IN HIS ENTIRE TENURE AT UofH (he also won against miss st twice in 03 and 04, but...eh).

So in short no one wants Sumlin because he has done ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to prove that he is capable of being a coach at a tier 1 university. I honestly hope he can prove everyone wrong but the outlook is grim.
