If money really isn't an issue why didn't they just go after Saban.

Saban is 66 years old. He probably wouldn't move for any amount of money.

Because Bama isn't stupid like LSU and would just counter any offer thrown on the table. LSU has money but they don't use it properly or care to. One reason it seems we're falling behind. It's an administration problem. We have resources that we don't use. I'm sure O will be more than happy to promote one of his buddies from within. Might try ole Ensminger as a DC if it doesn't pan out on the OC side.

Because they don't want to be dicked around by a coach who they have zero chance of landing and wasted no time to go out and hire a qualified championship winning coach in Jimbo.
