49ers to have new coach by friday

According to their new GM. This was just reported on the NFL network. Of course it could be Germans, but I doubt it since the GM was just hired. Of course them intending to have their coach and it happening are two different things.

Harbaugh has given the go-ahead for Baalke as GM. The 9er beat writers and secondary sources are mostly implying it's just a matter of time until the big dog is announced. It will absolutely be in the next 48 hours, possibly tomorrow.
If the team had already formally satisfied the Rooney rule Harbaugh would probably have been announced tonight. The team can't announce anything until that's taken care of. Some less reputable sources are already announcing Harbaugh is officially agreeing, but the beat writers are holding off for now. All seem to think he's on the way though.
Jed wouldn't have set the Friday timetable unless something was essentially finalized. Seeing as Harbaugh's been the #1 (and practically only) target for the past month, unless Jed wants to be lynched it has to be him.
