Where are UCLA fans getting this number from? Seems a bit steep.

UCLA Rumor: LSU offering Walker $1.3 million

ETA: Maybe they mean a $1.3 million package over three years ... which averages out to a little over $400k a year ???

I hope that is a 3 year contract, which would be about $433,333 a year.

Crowton's salary is 400,000. Muschamp is getting 900,000

Unless that is an incentive laden contract with 600,00 coming only if LSU goes unscored on all season then that is BS.

That actually makes sense ... I didn't think about it that way.

maybe a coach in waiting deal?

Honestly, if it took a salar of 900k for walker and 400k for O, i think it's money well spent for the future of the program.

Maybe miles can say, i make 3.75 i can make 2.75 to have the best people for my program.

BRO is not the place to go to get anything resembling information. The idiocy makes the rant look tame

If that's the case, I'll definitely have an added layer of respect for Miles. Although I doubt that's the case.

LSU admins want a new DC just as much as we fans do, so I'd imagine they're willing to open up the check book a bit on this hire.

i could see him doing that too. when he was at osu he said he would take less money so that he could hire great assistants.

What's the Latin term for "pulling something out of your a$$"?

Surely LSU can't offer more than $450k to $500k - if they paid the DC $1.3 million (which is more than about 80 Division I, Bowl-Subdivision head coaches make - and I'm pulling that number out of my a$$) then Crowton would have to get at least $1 million (over double what he's making now), then we'll all need more money to buy tickets.

if it takes 1.3 million to get the guy we want. i'm all for it. This go's back to the type of mentality when we hired saban. The future of the program is worth it.

If successful, they will make this up in the first year.

If there is someone you want, you go get them and pay what it takes.

A lot of people have complained because skip was only paying 1 mil when he hired les. they felt he settled. Could have had Davis, JDR, ect.

Now, if we pay top price to get what we view is one of the best d.c.'s, we pay to much?

Books, who do you want to see at DC. You obviously don't like DeWayne Walker.

an upper-end DC at a program like LSU should make a little under a million
