Of course, I never envisioned the heronmark as being embossed in gold rather than simply etched into the steel of the sword, either.
Ya, not a fan of that either, but I'll cut them some slack because I feel they nailed the shape/feel of the sword otherwise.
ETA: Eh, forgot about them going with a tsuba instead of quillons. Not a fan of that either. Ok fine, fine they nailed the blade.

The heronmark? They probably just want the viewer to be able to spot other blademasters from a distance on a TV screen.

But how will people gawk at it?
Many tense situations resulted from the visibility of the blade, when sheathed.
Maybe they ignore that whole thing. . .just seems like a waste.

It’s whatever.
They are apparently going to ignore for the most part “the ageless” Aes Sedai look. Show runner said it’s just too expensive

Reports today that apparently they did some filming in Dubrovnik and in the Canary Islands on Tenerife that no one knew about, awhile ago.
Very Falme-ish.

Same here, its going to be different than the books i love but as long as they stay true to the soul of the books i wont really worry about it.
They seem to be giving it their bery best shot, are saying all the right things, have some good actors to anchor the young cast, etc. The more i hear about it, changes and all, the more excited i get

There is going to be a lot of wasted material unfortunately. I think the biggest changes will be having to really hit the highlights - season 1 will have to skip over tons of small towns

Looks like he posted this yesterday and I haven't seen anyone comment on it anywhere else.
I'm sure they are in the process of getting back but haven't seen anything to say they are definitely back to officially filming. Hopefully they can wrap it up and we can get some trailers and actual stuff soon.

Ya but he has been pretty on point about everything thus far, definitely has a few people feeding him info. I'd say it is a very strong chance they are - or at least are imminently about to start

We will likely find out pretty quickly just how much stuff was left to filming I guess.

Ya, that video says he has been told six weeksish? - so that would probably put a full length trailer date at end of my or early June most likely I think.
Hopefully that schedule is correct, would be on a good pace for Fall 2021 release

For those interested, there will be a Lan related teaser release from TheWheelofTime official twitter and Insta.
Probably just a quick teaser like the rest.
They changed their social names from WOTonPRime to TheWheelOfTime. Pretty big indication that they are starting to ramp up releases to the masses.

Feel like the Lan one went a lot better than Moiraine one - at least to the non-fans it probably will seem a lot more GoT.
I wasn't a huge fan of the actor choice - I always had him pictures as some monster of a person, but he is growing on me.
Some other news - they are going to essentially go right into Season 2 filming after taking a short break. Seems like we are on pace for a Season 1 Trailer in the next month or so

Yeah I had seen that. It makes complete sense. They cannot go with another gap in filming for Season 2. If Covid doesn't happen, Season 2 is probably already in the can or being filmed anyway.
They cannot go 4 years of production with 2 seasons maybe. And you have some pretty damn in demand actors in Pike and Henney, you really need to film while you can.
I expect we will see some casting news for characters like Elayne, etc that are unlikely to appear in S1 but are major characters.

RUMOR SPOILERS:
Lots of rumors that they are bailing on the whole Caemlyn thing but we are going to have a lot of the early EOTW stuff, then Shadar Logoth, the expanded Logain stuff and rumors are that they will go to Tar Valon instead of Caemlyn.
EF/Winternight > Shadar Logoth is probably at least 3 episodes if not 4.
The separation / travel sequences > Tar Valon and some time in Tar Valon probably takes up 2 and then that would be 2 left for Fal Dara / Tarwin's Gap.
They probably are dropping Elayne from season 1 so we avoid the fantasy "hot main characters instantly fall in love" trope. Curious to see how they work her back in.
I assume Min will join up in Tar Valon - would make sense for her to already be there given her talent.

SPOILERS
Yeah I have some serious doubts about that apparent plan to ditch Caemlyn and go to Tar Valon. Logistically, it makes almost no sense. I hope the can pull it off but I don't love it.
My guess is that they introduce Elayne as an Accepted in Tar Valon to Egwene/Nynaeve, but part of the reason why they bond is because of Rand, so that makes it weird.
Seems like an unnecessary change.

Ya I think they could have done it with Caemlyn, not sure if this was a necessary change but there are ways to introduce their friendship that could work and I hope they avoid the "i saw him and now we are in love" aspect.
Overall I'm not too worried about individual changes or it being different from the books, I just want the series to be good and hit the same tones and high points.
I know they are trying to work in and expand Logain's storyline, so I imagine that has a lot to do with them going to Tar Valon. They could have just done that as a separate storyline, but there may have been some production budget considerations in play.
Or maybe all the rumors are wrong

There's been some minor leaks on S2.
They are going straight into s2 production as you said.
They scouted locations in Morocco for it, which is interesting. Aiel Waste? Tear?
They also revealed a new costume designer that has been working on s2 since January, so they have been gearing up for it for months behind the scenes.
I bet some casting leaks soon on that.

I also found this interesting. Uta Briesewitz who was the director for the first two episodes said this recently:
She is a really, really experienced director with some really good credits, so that bodes well.
quote:
Q: What is the favorite job you’ve done? (And it doesn’t have to to be a directing job, but it obviously, it can be.)
Wow! There are many because I deeply enjoy what I do, be it as a cinematographer or as a director. So, there are many, many, many. But as a director, and thinking more recently…for me it would be The Wheel of Time…the fantasy series. I shot the pilot for [season] one and [the] second episode…for Rafe Judkins…the show creator for Amazon in Prague last year now…and I shot a little bit this year.
Because it was just — as an episodic director, you always come on to shows that are already established. So, you are a guest: you come and go. You get a certain amount of time to connect with the crew and the actors, and then when you really kind of find your groove, you already have to leave again, and doing The Wheel of Time was a really long commitment. I think I was in Prague for roughly eight months. So, building something from the ground up, every detail, and creating this world with so many amazing, talented artists together, and see it kind of rise up in front of us from nothing, you know, whatever we did, it was just incredibly exciting and fun and fulfilling. So, I think that would be…my favorite job so far.
She is a really, really experienced director with some really good credits, so that bodes well.
