Post I made in another thread got me thinking about this. How many of you keep the printed covers on your books? Personally I always throw mine away after reading. I like how my bookcase looks without them, kinda like an old study or library.

I keep them on. It does look better to remove the though.

They always fall off and get bent up and I just end up tossing them

Keep them on, but I also agree it looks better with them off.

I generally don’t care about them. But one time I had a novel that was only available in Europe and it was worth quite a bit in the States due to limited supply. Worth considerably less without it. So of course I lost it.

I remove them when reading and put back on when I’m done with the book.

Side note: I also NEVER break the spine on paperbacks.

While I’m reading, no. After I’m done they go back on.

I take them off for the same reason. It looks better on the shelf to me. I can't stand seeing all the different bright colors and fonts when I walk by my bookshelf. I much rather the neatness of the dull and mostly uniform spines underneath the cover.

Yes. Worst case scenario, you use it as a bookmark.
