RIP. He was a great talent. I recommended his Lonesome Dove series on this board many times.

Lonesome Dove is one of my favorites. One of the best westerns I can think of.

As for Beverly Cleary - as a child I read those Ramona books dozens of times - and suggested them as a librarian. My kids read them now.

Two big losses for the literary world.

My favorite author of all time. I’ve read everything he’s written and enjoyed most all
of it. I recommend it all, but aside from the Lonesome Dove Series I highly recommend Texasville and The Last Picture Show. As well as All My Friends of Going to Be strangers.
