The Confederacy has nothing to do with it. His presidency was marked by scandal and corruption. What he did to the Lakota people was criminal.

Because he doesn't portray Grant as a belligerent drunk who sent soldiers into wholesale death.
So far, everything I've read about this man makes me have nothing but respect for his character.
A better family man you will not find in the history of politics.
