It’s obvious why Pete Best was sacked

Upon reading Lewisohn’s volume 1 of his Beatles trilogy it’s obvious that Best was kicked out because he didn’t fit in with the other 3 Beatles. He literally wouldn’t talk to the others and in Hamburg he’d disappear and go off by himself. Ringo fit in so well; Hell, Best would have ruined the Hard Day’s Night movie! He later claimed he was fired because the others were jealous of him because he would get most of the attention of the girls but that’s not why. He screwed up the chemistry of the band while Ringo enhanced it. And he wasn’t a very good drummer. He had poor drumming skills and he didn’t have the ambition that the others had to be a success. Tony Sheridan, an outside observer who played onstage with the Beatles noticed this as well. Ringo changed the dynamics of the band tremendously and the rest is history.

Yeah, I agree.
Haven’t read the book.
Might be better over at music board.

John L. is on record as saying that w/o Ringo there would have been no Beatlemania

THIS

You'll get 14 assholes who only reply to say they hate the Beatles. But you might also get a few insightful comments as well.

The other Beatles clearly got this right.

Ringo was much better than Best in so many ways.

...and Ringo was brilliant drummer. He adds so much to later Beatles songs. Here he is isolated on Something: Really gets going at the 1:20 mark.
