I have enjoyed reading "Empire of the Summer Moon", "Undaunted Courage", and "A Terrible Glory". Any other good reads out there?

If you liked A Terrible Glory, check out The Killing of Crazy Horse by Thomas Powers. It tells the story of the Indian Wars from the Native American point of view.

I'll second the rec for Killers of the Flower Moon, about the Osage murders in Oklahoma in the 1920s.

I'm currently reading Ceremony by Leslie Marmon Silko. The plot jumps around a lot, but it's pretty good. I also liked Linda Hogan's novel Power.

I recently read Lame Deer: Seeker of Visions. I think it is worth reading despite some flaws.

I also read Light in the Forest probably a dozen times as a kid.

Blood and Thunder (Navajo)

The History On Fire podcast has a really good series on the Sioux and the Battle of the Little Bighorn

Loved it, even used it as reference material on a trip out West this summer (especially in/around Palo Duro).

If you don't mind a fiction "break," The Son is a nice read (especially the Comanche chapters).
