Scot Harvath thriller series rough, raw, not a bit PC, and fun to read. Some consistent, recurring characters. Gives some tech and poli details, without them becoming a burden, a la Clancy (I also like him). Kind of new to Thor's books. Have any of them been made into movies or tv series? Probably the deliberate non-PC tone would scare sponsors away.

No movies/TV yet, but I would love to see a Scot Harvath series.

Have you read Vince Flynn/Kyle Mills Mitch Rapp books? Also Jack Carr's "The Terminal List."

I just ordered a Brad Thor signed "Spymaster" from Barnes and Noble for 50% off today. Kind of glad I waited to order.

With the Harvath series (so many in it), I decided to re-discover the Ye Olde Publick Librarie. Checking the books out at no cost beats the Kindle price and doesn't take up space on my bookshelf anymore. I learned the hard way with Tom Clancy and other popular writers of days gone by. I just checked out The Athena Project - a little different, but clearly Thor calling the shots. Trying to stay somewhat in order in my readings. Also got Blowback - some back up catch up reading. Fun stuff. Congrats on snagging that signed copy.

And no, I haven't read Vince Flynn/Kyle Mills Mitch Rapp books? Also Jack Carr's "The Terminal List."

Code of Conduct was boring
Lions of Lucerne was good

That’s all I’ve got. I need to read some more of his books.

I read them all through The Last Patriot.

I liked them. Need to pick them back up and read the rest.

Red War comes out 9/28. Reviews so far are good.

I'm also going to get Sean Parnell's "Man of War." That one comes out 9/11. Can't wait for that one.

As much as I hate to admit it, I had never heard of Brad Thor until about two months ago. Went to the library and checked one out and enjoyed it. I'll be reading more.

So glad you asked about Thor. I love the Vince Flynn Mitch Rapp stories. Almost completely finished the series and was looking for something new. I saw some of Thor’s books and it sounded similar. I need to find the first one, I like reading them in the order they came out.

Lions of Lucerne is the first one.

Also, check out "The Terminal List" by Jack Carr and "Man of War" by Sean Parnell (out tomorrow, 9/11).

I finished this one last month. It was a pretty good read. Got the idea this was the first of a series but I don't know how it realistically goes forward, not that any of these are that realistic to begin with.

I may give it a try but will have a hard time seeing how they make this jump. I had a hard time with some other books similar to this, Pike Logan series first book in particular and Amos Decker, and neither of those guys did anything illegal before coming back into the fold.

I starting reading this series after I finished the Mitch rapp series. Lions of Lucerne and path of the assasin were both very good. To switch things up I’m about to start reading the third book of the red sparrow trilogy. For something different I enjoyed the Cuban affair and I Am pilgrim by terry Hayes was probably the best book I’ve ever read.

Is Jack Carr pretty good? I'm hit or miss on the genre, some of it is just eyeroll inducing.

For scale I thought Flynn was great, Thor is ok to good and Ben Coes is just outright awful.

I liked "The Terminal List" and looking forward to his next book.

He's a great follow on Twitter, but I get really jealous seeing how he spends his days; fly fishing and hanging with his dog

I loved the first Red Sparrow book, thought the second was okay, and hated the third one.
