I just started a re-read of this book the other night. I first read it years ago, and the story has kind of stuck with me. Occasionally I'll find myself thinking about the oddness of the Navidson house, or Truant's descent as he struggles to piece together Zampano's notes.

Anyone else read and enjoyed this book?

One of my favorite books of all time. Haven't read it in probably 8 years or so.

I've read it 4 times now.

I seem to remember that someone here has a House of Leaves tattoo.

frick this book! Hahaha.

I aborted my initial attempt at reading this thing after a few pages in.

Years later, September 2018, I started reading it again and pushed through to the end. This book destroyed my reading for the whole of 2019 as I did not complete it or any other book.

I absolutely loved Truant's sections of stream of consciousness, but was uninterested and beat down by the Navidson Record parts.

I appreciate the effort the author made with the book. It's no doubt an ambitiously constructed novel, but definitely wasn't my cup of tea.

Finally finished it in January of this year, I believe. Will probably never revisit it again.

I couldn't put the book down anytime it got back to exploring the house.

"Home Video" movies were big when I first read this (Paranormal Activity series) so always thought the house exploration would've made a solid entry in that genre had they made a movie of it.

I've been reading this for 5 nights now, and I'm only 100 pages in. I forgot how dense this book is. Still enjoying it though.

I'm at the part where they are discussing the 4th Exploration.

Admittedly, part of the reason I wanted to get and read the book was because of the author's read-in of one of Johnny's bits before one of his sister's songs ( Poe - Hey Pretty).

My buddy read it a while back. I may need pick it up. Unfortunately I'm on the middle of a Harry Potter reread, on the second book for the Expanse, and picked up part 4 of Red Rising. I'll probably change genres after these.

It sucks that I'm a slow reader though.
