Horrible. I read about 15% of it and returned it. Thankfully free from the library app.
The guy isn’t even trying anymore.

I know. Beating the dead horse.

I read the description and I can see how that theme could get really corny if not executed carefully.

Heck it’s not even the plot.
The writing itself is flat and without imagination.

Drat. I just bought that but haven’t had a chance to start it yet.
Like “Sooley” probably. Awful.

Yeah, hope so. I buy all his books, but it seems like the last decade or so he’s just been mailing it in.
I still buy them and read them, though.

I dunno. I guess because I’ve been doing it for about 30 years. Maybe one day he will come out with one like some of his earlier ones.

He's taken the James Patterson route, mass production reducing quality. By a lot. He covers at least 3 trials of major characters through 1-2 sentences, not an exaggeration.

My complaint with John Grisham is he writes great characters and stories for 300-350 pgs. He then realizes the quota with his publisher is 375 pgs.

Wraps it up in 25 pages and leaves the reader disappointed with the ending.

Fair assessment for his older stuff.
Try this one and see if you think he even accomplishes that much.

Yep, he literally covered the trials of 3 major characters in a paragraph each, a fast wrap up of what could have been major issues in the book. A waste of time but not money as I get my books thru the library.

Is he writing all his own stuff these days? I sort of assumed he had gone to some sort of hired anonymous writer as part of the process.

I am about to finish this one and I couldn't disagree more. I love this book.

The mob and mafia stuff really interests me and I love the way this reads like a true story.

The Firm was the first nonfiction novel I read that wasn’t a western. Was immediately hooked.
