I'll add Cormac McCarthy's The Road, M.R. Carey's The Girl With All the Gifts, and even Mark Lawrence's The Broken Empire Trilogy, which is technically grimdark fantasy, but takes place in a future Earth.

Haven't read it but have heard We by Yevgeny Zamyatin is good. Author lived in the Soviet union so his work was suppressed for a long time
