Seeing as how I/we recommended it to you over a month ago...I'd say yes.

And don't come back until you can tell us why they call him The Bloody Nine.

Depends on what other books you have lined up to start.

Say one thing for Logen Ninefingers, say that Kvothe hesitates to read about him.

Yes!!! I've been promoting this series for years and can't get anyone to bite! There are 4 more books that tie into the trilogy that I know of and highly recommend all of them. Abercrombie is a beast. Would love to see his books turned into movies.

The Shattered Sea trilogy is also legit. Don't let the YA tag fool you.

Yep, not as good as his first trilogy and the three spinoffs/continuations, but very good in its own right.

I tried this trilogy a couple years ago and remember being shocked that it didn't do much for me.

Maybe I'll have to retry it. I don't know if I finished the first book.

I bought it late last night and got through about 30 pages.

Will be back when I can explain things.

You've got to be realistic. The Audible books are some of my favorites.

Love First Law. Read them years ago and currently rereading them now. Glokta is one of the best characters ever

And when you're finished, go straight into Rob J. Hayes' Ties That Bind trilogy. Same vein...dark, murdery...

Liked most of the first book...except the characters. Some were good and had depth but others were more like caricatures where they would not grow/learn from experiences/adapt/develop. Ruined my interest in reading the rest of the series, just couldn't care about the characters.

If you like Glokta, you should definitely read The Shattered Sea trilogy. There are some similarities between Glokta and Yarvi from Shattered Sea.

I'm going to read those soon. I never picked them up because the young adult genre tag didn't appeal to me, but this thread has made me want to check them out

The end of this trilogy absolutely raped my mind.
