Finally some positive news on Winds. States he wants it "out for 2015". Can't ask for a better Christmas present than him finishing the manuscript and the book landing in a few months. LINK
On the back of every paperback book he has WoW coming out in 2014, and I just gave up on that thought.
SO YOU'RE TELLING ME THERE'S A CHANCE!?

And some will continue to shite on fans who open their mouths about him not writing "fast enough".

This jackass. You have interviews to do constantly? Really?
I almost hope now that the show passes him up and they just write their own script so he'll look like a freaking idiot.

I told myself I was done with re-reads after the last one. Yeah... I'm gonna read all 5 when they announce a release date. Need the world to be fresh and emotions high for when I open up Winds.

I tend to forget about Garland and Willas Tyrell and some other book only characters (so I definitely need to do a reread). But I still remember good ol Patchface and Gatehouse Ami.

Wait, you mean he's been going out and having a life, like being able to do stuff and go to places that he's never been before? The nerve.

Got the World of Ice and Fire for my birthday today. Was surprised at how big it is
I've only read the first couple pages and flipped through to look at some pictures but I'm impressed with the quality of the drawings and the book itself.

Yeah, I got it for my birthday too, and was surprised in how huge it was.
Flip to the Aerys chapter. It's simply incredible.

Filming has officially wrapped for Season 5.

And no word of Aegon and Connington? That may be something that I'll have to brace myself for instead of getting pissed about it. It's a much larger departure than Stoneheart.

What's the general opinion on the connington story line? Like it, yay or nay?
Posted on 12/6/14 at 5:12 pm to iwyLSUiwy
I enjoy the Connington/FAegon storyline to a point. Just because of the Blackfyre potential. But I also wouldn't have minded Quentyn Martell not being a giant pussy and a Dany/Dorne alliance.

I'm 100% okay with Quentyn not being in the show.

I just don't see how they can do this season without fAegon

A little nervous about that but there were barely any on set pics released other than the ones of the Dornish, Dany & Tyrion, and of Cersei right after filming the Walk.
Everything else had been kept under wraps.

Did not know this. I sincerely hope he has just pulled a fast one and it's out for Christmas, however impossible that may be.
I really hoped WOIAF was going to provide more satisfaction. It was great but I felt like they skimmed the top too much and didn't really go into detail with anything. The bits about Asshai and the lands of the Far East were just too much of a teaser, all interesting and seemed like they could directly tie in with the problems with Planetos, all the while knowing that we will probably never learn about them in detail.
As for the people arguing that people shouldn't bug him about his writing. If anyone in any other occupation provided the poor quality of service that he does, they wouldn't have a job. He 100% uses the fact that he knows his customers have to wait. He knows there is nowhere else for people to take their business because only he can provide this specific product. I don't think he actively decides to screw his customers and provide excruciatingly slow delivery, but it happens nonetheless. People aren't buying stand alone books, we are buying a series. He has an understood obligation to finish the product and he conducts his business like he doesn't care if it gets done or not.
To be a huge GRRM fan, damn it sometimes I hate the man.
Steven Erikson has written 11 books of equivalent size in less time. Take your damn computer on road trips.
