Do any of y'all find it very peculiar that the Starks allied with the crannogmen, who are said to be some of the sneakiest, most dishonorable fighters in the seven kingdoms?

My new CP theories

Sansa is pregnant with a Bolton baby. Remember the "I am inside you" comment, and check out her attire. Would be a weird unexpected twist (I think the show needs that)

Quathe (sp) and or the warlocks will make a return soon.

The Starks aren't allied with them, they are the Reed's liege lords. And the Neck is a very important strategic area for the North since it is what separates the North from the rest of Westeros. If it wasn't for those sneaky arse crannogmen and their swamp land the Andels would've conquered the North long before the Targaryens did.

Wasn't sure where to put this so I figured this venerable old thread would do just fine:

What characters would you either like to see make it into next season or you think would be almost necessary next season? Here's a few I would like:

1- Rhaegar (via flashbacks) - to flesh out the other half of Jon's parentage.

2- Current (in the show) Howland Reed - I think he could add to the storyline. Plus, I'd like to see a hint that there may be some CotF blood mingled in with the Crannogmen.

3- Alys Karstark - Would like to see at least a brief mention of uniting the wayward northern houses. Her fleeing to Jon and him arranging a marriage to a young wildling to save her from an unwanted marriage would be a nice quick way to touch on that.

4 - Ser Duncan the Tall - in a flashback. OK, maybe not this one so much. More of a whim of mine. I'm not sure if Brienne's possible ancestry would impact anything.

I doubt we ever see him honestly. He's kind of a larger than life character and any attempt to show him would just undermine his appeal.

Pretty much all of them. It was only limited by the ships' capacity.

Against a war weary, depleted, worn out Westerosi military now splintered, largely into 4 or 5 factions, again, about as badly as the beginning of the War of the Five Kings just a few years back

Thanks Cersei (and Littlefinger.)

Seems like I heard them say 40,000 in season 1 ep 1.

40,000 was the size of Drogo's khalasar. Dany combined ALL of the Dothraki khalasars when she burned all their Khals in Vaes Dothrak. The number of Dany's Dothraki forces is probably close to 100,000.

I've got a likely dumbass question, but I can't remember from the books. If everyone is so worried about Winter and the north folks are worried about the white walkers, since the white walkers can't pass the wall, then why doesn't everyone just stay south of the wall until winter ends and stop fricking ranging beyond the wall?

Dany has 100,000 Dothraki that won't do her a damn bit of good in a seige of winterfell in the middle of winter.

Because the wall is coming down.

It is known.

If you just leave it undefended then it can be taken down. The same reason they don't let the tree line get to close to the wall. Given enough time they could melt it or chip it down with siege weapons.

Know one really knows for sure that the Wall was built with magic that the White Walkers can't pass through. Hell, they didn't even believe in White Walkers until now. They were ranging beyond the wall to fight with Wildlings, which is what most people in Westeros believe is the purpose of the Night's Watch.

But before Bran fricked up why did anyone even bother going beyond the wall, if the wall holds back the others, why ever go north of it?

Most people (even in the North) don't believe and still don't believe the white walkers have ever existed. Also the only people going beyond the wall were the Night's Watch for investigative purposes and Wildlings.

I don't know it's just not convincing. So yes the Nights Watch obviously knows about the white walkers but time and time again they go beyond the wall and get murdered by white walkers. Even Benjen says he was killed going north of the wall searching for White Walkers. Sounds fricking dumb if you have an impenetrable wall to hide behind where they can't possibly cross.
