Lady Dustin has pretty much earned Bolton's trust and is the only former Stark bannermen to do so. That could be huge in the upcoming battle. I could see Stannis and his men watching as the Barrowton, Manderly, Umber, etc. men obliterate the Boltons from within. Would be sort of ironic with Theon having watched the Bolton men wipre out Ser Rodrik's host in front of Winterfell.

Oh how sweet that would be. I'm so ready for the Boltons to get what is coming to them.

That and she was VERY inquisitive about the crypts. Makes me think they'll come into major play when they come back to wreck shite on the Boltons while still at Winterfell.

I am not quite sure about the Manderly's, but I see no way that the Umber aren't in opposition to Roose and Ramsey. When Rickon comes back with Davos, and Theon spills the beans about what really happened at Winterfell, the Bolton's may not have any friends anymore.

And was it Lyanna's face she was "staring" at down there? I thought it was so she could try and see a resemblance to the fake Arya, but maybe she was looking to see a resemblance to Jon Snow...she may have some inside information as to who is really who.

I think it was a combination of 2 things.
1.) Looking for resemblance to fake Arya
2.) Reminicing on how the whole Game of Thrones began when Rhaegar "stole" Lyanna

Absolutely. She's clearly a smart lady and I really do believe her hate is part of a rouse to get as close to the Boltons as she can. It also plays into the Hooded Man theory for me and the potential that it's not Theon (still a cool theory that is very possible) but instead a Stark supporter who has been let in via the crypts.

Yes, my immediate thought when she asked Theon to take her to the crypts was that she wanted to find the secret way out of Winterfell. I now think it was twofold. One to find the passageway, and also to look at Lyanna's statue.
GRRM better freakin hurry and release TWOW.

I think patchface has something to do with the drowned god. He was normal until he drowned. Now he spews cryptic prophecies

Yeah, that is what I am interested to find out. Whose creature is he? I think the Drowned God may ultimately be the "God of the Dark" that is the antithesis of the Lord of Light in that religion.

Definitely. His little quip of:
quote:
Under the sea the mermen feast on starfish soup, and all the serving men are crabs
Is fricking creepy when you think of the other things he's said that has come to fruition.

The Manderlys hate the Boltons/Freys. Manderly cooked three Freys into a pie and served it for shite's sake.

Why is that creepy?

All the serving men are crabs? I envision these big arse crabs crawling out of the water Skyrim swamp style.

Shame on me. I got Manderly confused with Karstark. Yes, Manderly and Umber will jump to a true Stark in an instant if they have the chance. Ramsey's ruse with the fake Arya is the only chance the Bolton's have. They are hanging on by a thread. They may lose Karstark too, now that the mean one is in an ice cell.

I kinda hope they stay with the Boltons.
I hate the Karstarks.

Stannis is using the Karstark soliders in some kind of dangerous fashion to prove their loyalty.

According to AWOIAF:
quote:
When preparing to leave the crypts, Barbrey reserves a last "lingering" look for the statue of Eddard
I've been deep into AWIOAF while reading this thread
But I think I figured out why I like this series so much. I'm a Tudor England fan (and Ancient Greece and Rome) but I love learning about the history and all the other players and GRRM has made a whole new world w/ it's own histories. I can just sit here and soak up more and more info. :nerdalert:

We've all been nerds here. If this thread was high school we'd all live inside a massive swirly
