Does anyone have any good book recomendations on Supreme Court cases and how they affected the political discussions of their contemporaries? I tried a google search but all I got were books by Jeffery Toobin and well... I dont think I want the particular kinds of details he may "reveal."

A few of these might be interesting. Maybe even the cookbook?

You could buy a Constitutional Law casebook meant for law students—not sure exactly what you’re looking for

First Among Equals: The Supreme Court in American Life by Ken Starr was decent, but it’s probably dated. Not sure what you are looking for.

Jeffrey Toobin wrote a good book about the Supreme Court called The Nine or something like that.

Other than RBG snitching to Linda Greenhouse, this is the closest you will ever get to what goes on in the building.

I remember reading The Brethren many years ago. It was entertaining in a gossipy sort of way.

Another one is Closed Chambers: The Rise, Fall, and Future of the Modern Supreme Court. A 1998 book by Edward Lazarus, who served as a law clerk for Justice Harry Blackmun during the October Term 1988.

Thge only book of the 10 listed that I have read is Mark Levin's Men in Black.

His books are typically very good as this one is. And, you don't have to listen to his nasally voice.
