I’m shooting for 25. For the first time in a long, long time I have the time to read for pleasure along with my supplemental for work (finished grad school in December). I don’t have a set list but have some books I’ve picked up between here and there that I never finished or got to dive into.

1. Magic Lessons - Alice Hoffman
2. The Bell Jar - Sylvia Plath (In progress)

Had this recommended just the other day. I may have to add it to the list.

I am taking a “shoot for the moon; even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars” approach

Going for 12 this year. Already got 2 down so far:

1. In the Garden of Beasts (Larson)
2. The Poisonwood Bible (Kingsolver)

Garden of Beasts has me really interested in getting into some more history books.

Erik Larson and TJ English write interesting nonfiction in an easy to read, narrative style. Highly recommend starting there if you enjoyed Garden of Beasts and want something similar

It was good, but I didn’t find that it contained anything groundbreaking. A lot of common sense stuff. It’s an easy read!

It was motivating, though, although I actually didn’t finish it

Got halfway through and it was due back at the library

I got another history book without much research and I’m thinking it was a mistake. Anyone read The Secret History of the World by Mark Booth? Thought it might be interesting but the intro makes me think it’s just a book of crackpot theories and Illuminati shite

Well ahead of schedule coming up on the 1/4 mark of the year.

I decided to go on a Stephen King journey, so just finishing up the first 4 Dark Tower books. I’m enthralled and can’t wait to dive back in! Gonna take a brief break to read through some related works in Salem’s Lot, The Talisman, & Insomnia to expand on the lore of King’s universe.
