The Texans Reached Out To Deshaun Watson On David Culley Hiring...But Did They?

It's been a weird morning if you're a Houston Texans fan. You get a new head coach. Then your star QB asks to be traded. According to Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle, the Texans reached out to Deshaun Watson to inform him of the hire...

Sounds like "informing" him and making him a part of the process are two different things, which makes me think they hired who they saw fit and just let Watson know. Now...he gone...

I can understand if a QB wants to have input on his new coach, but in all honesty, frick deshawn watson. You don't own the team dude. You're a player. Coaching hires aren't about skin color. It's about finding the best man for the job. Trade his arse and move on.

This isn't about an athlete "taking his career in his own hands". You do that with what you can control. And this dude ain't tom brady or payton manning or even cam newton. This is a 4th year player trying to dictate coaching hires. If the Texans go and hire who deshawn watson wants, somebody he bar-b-ques with or whatever, if it explodes, deshawn watson just forces a trade at that point and moves on. The Texans have a responsibility outside of one player. Ya feel me?

The Texans told Watson he'd be consulted in the gm and coach hiring process. He didn't ask to be consulted. They told him he would, and then they didn't. And comparing any other profession to professional sports is a stupid comparison that has nothing to do with reality.

What qualifies him to be a part of the process? He has never been a GM or a coach in the NFL, so why would they let him be part of the process? They told they would consider his "list" of coaches he would like... and they did. The real problem is you've got HeHaw running the team and his right hand man is the team preacher, who nobody likes.
