According to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport on Monday night, Bill Belichick’s decision to bench DB Malcolm Butler in the Super Bowl came down to three things...

He was sick before the Super Bowl
He had a rough week of practice
He violated a minor team rule

I think the flip out on the coaches was the straw. How do You trust a guy to play in your system when he obviously thinks he's above it all. Team violation and weed on the one freaking night you need to have your shite together for the team. Plus you flip out about it. Where's this guys head at. How do You out him out there thinking he's making the best decisions for you to win. It's not just about a punishment.

So missing a team curfew is now a "minor" team violation? Apparently, Coach, doesn't think so.

it's the Super Bowl, and the players get paid enough to get the hell over it. If their panties were in a wad, and lost due to it then that's on them. Belichick did what he needed to, and the locker room better take notice. Nfl players are way to pampered. And no i'm far from a pats fan.

This guy thinks he is God on a football field the coldest person in all of football Saban is a preacher compared to Belichick . The man is a tool he told Tebow not to make a commercial the guy lost a million then he cut cut.

And after he was cut Tebow made a commercial. BB didn't want the Patriots to be used to proselytized or promote Tebow. Tebow can be divisive. Nobody likes Gators, anyway.

Not saying Belichick's never made a bad decision but I think you have to give him the benefit of the doubt on coaching moves given his past record of performance. Same with Saban.

Dumb move, period Totally decisive and distracting and just fricking dumb to do the day of the game when they should be concentrating on mire important things. Plus, his backup was kinda abused

There's no guarantee Butler would have been better. Belichick has won five more Super Bowl rings (and seven if you count the two he won as a Giants assistant) than a lot of people. I'll defer to his judgment.

How did his judgment work out? Foles killed them and won the MVP. Butler couldn't have hurt.

Divided the locker room and infuriated players. BB has his ego and hubris finally blow up in his face.

Did exactly what you might expect - messed with the teams mojo. Bad move IMO.
