Former NFL star Aaron Hernandez, who was serving a life sentence for a murder conviction and just days ago was acquitted of double murder, died after hanging himself in his prison cell early Wednesday, Massachusetts prisons officials said. Per ESPN...
quote:

The former New England Patriots tight end was pronounced dead at UMass Memorial-HealthAlliance Hospital in Leominster about an hour later. He was 27.

Hernandez was in a single cell in a general population housing unit in the maximum security state prison. He hanged himself using a bed sheet that he attached to a cell window, Fallon said.

Hernandez tried to block the cell door from the inside by jamming the door with various items, Fallon said.
Hernandez’s agent, Brian Murphy said there is “absolutely no chance” Hernandez would commit suicide...

Maybe he finally had a moment of clarity and saw that he was a total POS and that him dying might be the best thing for the world.

Jerry Jones is lamenting the fact that he now has to draft a TE backup for Jason Witten.

I am surprised Larry hasn't posted pics of Hernandez's wife yet. Maybe he was afraid Hernandez would get to him.

You never know what someone is thinking. No matter what they say to you in private. I can totally see him doing this. His agent with the conspiracy theory c'mon man. Easy for him to say he wasn't the one that would be in a jail cell the rest of his life.

A couple of years too late, IMO. And frick all of his trashy ex-teammates (mainly UF) trying to act like he was some role model citizen. It's sad, in the sense he had everything athletically and threw it all away to be a thug. Other than that, screw him and anyone trying to glorify him as a person.

How would some guards hang that dude? He's massive, then barricade the door from the inside

I feel bad for his attorney. That poor guy just told him to hang in there.
