Clemson’s beat NC State 55-10 on Saturday, but after the game many thought the Tigers ran up on the score on the Wolfpack. Head coach Dabo Swinney responded to that criticism...

“I don’t really have a lot to say about it,” Doeren said, via 247Sports. “It’s their third or fourth (reserves) in the game. You’ve got to try to stop them. Obviously, it’s something as a coach that you don’t like to see happen. But I’ve done the same thing in the past — you put your backups in and you let them play football. It is what it is.”

I hate the "running up the score" argument. When is a team supposed to stop scoring? Ask Baylor - they were up by 25 and lost. Ask UCLA - they were up 30+ in the second half earlier this year and lost. Just play all 60 minutes and let your subs run the regular offense - you never know when you might need them. It's up to the opponent to prevent you from scoring.

he knows clemson cant afford any 21-20 games. Its not Dabo's fault they have such a soft schedule, but it is Dabo's fault if he doesn't show the pollsters some blowouts

ok fine, then what's the time cutoff? 30 seconds? 1 minute? 2? 5? 10? Where are the bylaws on this? I saw let the boys play. Those subs work hard in practice too. When they get in the game, they want to succeed, not just run off tackle or take a knee. Let 'em play.

We piss and moan that they play no one. Could you imagine the criticism if they were only beating these nobodies by 17 or 21?

Your 3rd & 4th team guys practice during the week too. If they get into the game, how do you tell them not to score? Besides, if the defense can’t stop you, how is that YOUR problem?

I mean what the hell did you want Dabo to do? Put his kicker in there at defensive end and his punter at linebacker?
