Umpires Union Tees Off On Padres Star Manny Machado On Twitter After Saturday's Ejection

San Diego Padres star Manny Machado was ejected on Saturday after this play...

He later received a suspension, but on Monday the Umpires Union went off on his actions on Twitter...

A bit much, no? But I guess they gotta make a statement here.

Good call. Machado shouldn't have walked toward the ump. He can throw his temper tantrum on the way back to the dugout. He chose to walk at the ump and even if it was a slight brush against the front of the ump, it doesn't matter. Sit his arse down a game and move on. This will be an irrelevant topic by next week. Machado is in the wrong here, not the ump.

I do not think it was a bad call... nor do I think any athlete should ever disrespect the game or the officials. And I am saying what this umpire did was wrong in this situation (other than making a big deal about the player touching him - Come on, he brushed against the ump when he took a step towards Machado), clearly Machado is "all game long" maybe his strike zone was all over the place all game - Idk, I did not see the rest of the game.... But with that being said, MLBUA needs to shut the hell up. MLB Umpires think they are a part of the game. They are constantly bringing attention to themselves and interjecting themselves into the games. MLB Umpires need to take a back seat to the game. They seem to have forgotten a good umpire goes unnoticed in a baseball game.

Damn good pitch and a good call. Don't see the physical contact though, but a one game suspension based on the fact that Machado is a giant a-hole is appropriate.

Ok manny is a douche but I still don’t see the physical contact they are talking about. You can make the guy look like an arse without making stuff up
