LSU athletic director Joe Alleva had his proposed three-year extension approved by the Board of Supervisors on Friday morning. Per Nola.com:
quote:

The extension comes without a raise for Alleva, who has been LSU's AD since 2008 and will keep him under contract through 2019. Alleva makes $725,000 a year with incentives that can increase it to $900,000.

"My wife and I love it here," Alleva, 61, said afterward. "The only thing that would make me leave is if I stop liking my job. I like my job. It's challenging. I like the people I work for. I'm honored and pleased to have that extension and to be here at least another five years."
Here is a brief video of Alleva discussing the extension on Friday:

So you're telling me, in 3 years, all tailgating will be eliminated on campus.

Good. Best AD since Broadhead.

He's really brought his basketball expertise to LSU. Love seeing NIT action.

I don't think he's been all that bad. Not great either but serviceable.

Thanks for all the downvotes, guys. Can any of you actually give any examples of things he's done that make him a bad AD?

TIA.

He's great for LSU. Glad we're keeping him around.
