Here is a clip of LSU freshman Saivion Smith getting his first interception in Tiger Stadium during Saturday's spring game.

Smith was on the receiving end of a overthrown pass from Danny Etling that was intended for fellow freshman Dee Anderson.

Following Saturday's game, new LSU defensive coordinator Dave Aranda had some great things to say about Smith, per The Advocate:
quote:

“Saivion is very football intelligent, understands the game, has really good questions,” Aranda said. “He’s got all of the skills in the world. He’s got length, toughness, all of those things he has, but what makes him special is he loves football and wants to know football more and more.”

Very impressive interception. He had to earn it and looked like a WR while catching. Excited about this future star.

Did the PA announcer say the pass was "complete"?

Saivion really accelerated to the ball. It also looked like Anderson quit a little on the ball. I liked the placement of the pass, and I don't think it was overthrown at all. It's where you need to throw it. Saivion is just a natural. He went from backpeddling to full speed in route.
