Yea mom, I won an all expense paid trip to the pro bowl because of my part time college job as a mascot! I can’t wait to meet some of the players!

I think it was 1982. FSU was visiting Tiger Stadium. Before the game started, an FSU Seminole mascot was wandering around the field pissing off the home crowd. LSU fans were losing their minds. Mike came out. He whooped the Seminole and then scalped him. The crowd went wild.

Mikes a true badass. My dad likes to tell a story of mike whipping Colonel Reb around during a game one year.

I was there for the FSU/fog/oranges game -- and FSU mascot thing you're describing, where Mike caught the FSU mascot's spear and broke it over his knee, was clearly staged. But fantastic nonetheless.
