The fact that he thinks Special Teams is right there is mind boggling. Arkansas had another run back to nearly the fifty because we can't lane fill. Guice, despite getting back to the 20 or 25 most returns, had his lanes stopped up most of the time and but-for his sheer talent and athleticism would have been taken down at the 10 most of those returns.
Our offense is anemic, yet again. The "it's my fault" gag is tired. It's been your fault for 10 years that our offense is bad. And we did have problems throwing the ball. I don't care about the stats. But I also think that the problems have something to do with the fact that we did Jack on first and second downs. We had more third and longs today than I remember having against Alabama (though, to be fair, I blocked that game out of my head).
"Defense played well except when it didn't," is basically what he said. Well, guess what? That's all the other team needs. We need to be coached better in all three phases of the game. Period.
And I think it's sad to see a man so accomplished scratching his head. He has to be wondering if the game has just gotten away from him. He has to be wondering if his time is running up. You can hear it in his voice.
