LSU dropped down to No. 19 in ESPN's College Football Power Rankings after Saturday's disappointing 38-27 to UCLA on Saturday night. Here's what they had to say:

19. LSU Tigers (0-1)
There was nothing fluky about the Tigers' 38-27 loss to UCLA. LSU was outplayed in nearly every phase of the game and showed no signs it is ready to bounce back from last year's disappointing 5-5 season. QB Max Johnson threw for 330 yards but never looked confident, while the LSU defense struggled to contain UCLA running backs Zach Charbonnet and Brittain Brown (213 combined rushing yards). -- Bonagura
The Bruins (2-0) jumped up to No. 15 in the power rankings.

Meh, 19 i I d about right. There is a lot to factor in: -UCLA with a game under their belt -travel to the coast -a cat 4 hurricane -new OC / DC -in spite of playing like shit, we were still competitive Besides, I don’t see 19 better teams.

Note: ESPN's College Football Power Ranking will hopefully replace the AP and Coaches Polls -- which is riddled with uninformed writers and coaches lackeys. Maybe ESPNCFPR can see the long-term value of a team, and not knee jerkily change their opinions week-to-week based on how others rank teams. Saying this, I'm not sure LSU deserves being ranked. Players look disoriented with the simplest of defensive gimmicks and offensive schemes. Maybe "The Honey Badger" is right, "this is a coaching issue, plus someone needs to step up on defensive [and offense] and be a leader". Power ranking or not, they better get their toys together. Or it will be another long year for us Tiger fans.

They're being sympathetically kind to us, for some reason.

LSU should not a top 25 team in anybody's rankings. Any ranking that includes them should have their viability as a producer of polls. i saw way more than 25 teams play this weekend that are better than LSU right now as much as it pains me to say.
