OFFENSE
Derrius Guice, RB, LSU

-Rushed for 276 yards and 1 touchdown in LSU's 40-24 win over Ole Miss.

-Became the only player in SEC history with three 250-yard rushing games in a career.

-The 276 yards ranks as the third-highest total in LSU history and was just 10 yards shy of breaking the school record of 285, which Guice set last year against Texas A&M.

-Averaged 12.5 yards on 22 carries.

-Had 126 yards in the first half and then followed that with 150 yards in the second half.

-The 276 yards vs. Ole Miss rank as the fifth-highest total in the FBS this year ... Added a 9-yard reception to finish with 285 all-purpose yards.

SPECIAL TEAMS
Connor Culp, PK, LSU

-Was a perfect 4-for-4 on field goals in LSU's 40-24 win over Ole Miss.

-The four field goals ties for the second-most in a game in LSU history.

-It's also the most by an LSU kicker since the 2011 season ... Has now successfully made seven straight field goals.

-Kicked field goals of 35, 38, 32, and 47 yards.

-Accounted for 16 points, which ranks No. 3 on LSU's list for points by a kicker in a game - just one shy of tying the school mark.

First of all congrats to Derrius Guice and Connor Culp for the awesome job that they did. Secondly, there should've been two SEC offensive players of the week RB Darrel Williams (103 rus, 105 rec yrds) should've been rewarded. Just as Guice became the first RB in SEC history to gain three 250+ yards rushing games in his career Williams became the first RB in LSU history to gain 100 rushing and 100 receiving yards in the same game. That kind of shock me with the like of Charles Alexander, Harvey Williams, Gary James, Dalton Hilliard and Kevin Faulk to be the first to accomplish this is very, very impressive. And third, Coach O proves to be the master motivator when he said LSU didn't have a kicker on the roster and he was going to have to recruit the best in the country and that just lit a roaring fire under Culp and he haven't missed a FG since way to go Coach. GEAUX TIGERS!!!!!!!!!!

I never understood why Culp wasn’t the kicker to begin with. He missed his first attempt at 47 yards. Probably just nervous. He hasn’t missed since, and also hit a 47 yarder against Ole Miss to redeem himself. As I’ve said before, he kicks everything right down the middle! What else do you want in a kicker? Congrats to Connor and Guice! Great job, guys!

This should also increase Culp's confidence.

Maybe it was an intended consequence. Sometimes ridicule is the best tool.

Yes he did. Seems like it has lit a fire under Culp. Unintended consequences? Maybe. Who knows?

Culp took the criticism as a challenge and it worked. Coaches know when and who they can call out. Kickers have to be mentally tough
