Former LSU Basketball star and current NBA analyst Shaquille O’Neal had some interesting comments recently about Alabama head coach Nick Saban who coached at LSU from 2000–2004.
Shaq suggested during a recent podcast
that if LSU would have paid Nick Saban more money to keep him in Baton Rouge instead of taking the Miami Dolphins head coaching job, then LSU would be at the same level as Alabama right now. Per NBCSports.com:
“We had him at LSU first. If we would have paid him the money, that would be us right now,” O’Neal said. “Everything’s about money.”
“I am LSU. Love Shaq University. I know everything that goes on on those grounds,” O’Neal went on. “If the Dolphins offered him six [million] and LSU came back and said ‘hey, we’ll offer you 10,’ what do you think he going to do?”
