Michigan has reached out to LSU head coach Les Miles.
Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sports
Sam Webb, the Managing Editor of GoBlueWolverine on Scout/FoxSports.com is reporting that the University of Michigan has reached out to Les Miles' agent:

A source speaking to GoBlueWolverine on the condition of anonymity confirmed that Michigan reached out to the agent of LSU coach Les Miles.

The former Michigan player and coach had seen his named mentioned in two prior searches the first of which saw him be mentioned on a national broadcast as having accepted the job. The report proved untrue and over that time Michigan sunk into a sea of inconsistency while Miles led his Tiger program four top five finishes including a national championship (2007) and national champion runner-up (2011), another finish in the top 10 and three more in the top 20 before this year.
Webb also reports that there has been no official word as to whether or not coach Miles will reciprocate Michigan's interest.

More on the Michigan coaching search from FootballScoop:

Michigan: Michigan has reached out to Les Miles’ agent tonight according to Sam Webb, who covers Michigan football. Combine this with a report today that they have reached out to David Cutcliffe and it sounds like Michigan is trying to kick their search into gear. For what it’s worth, sources close to Cut and Les we have spoken with do not expect significant talks with Michigan.

Whew, the report headline frightened me. For a second I thought about where our program would be for the years coming without Les and it was grim! Him leaving would make us about as good as Tennessee for sure

Some of y'all sound like the Tenn fans when they wanted Fulmer gone. What have they done since then?

This is the third coach Michigan has gone through in the last 8 years. Must not be an easy thing to find a good coach.
