During Wednesday's episode of "Sports Today" on Baton Rouge ESPN radio 104.5, host Charles Hanagriff said there could be 6-7 suspended LSU players for the season opener vs. BYU on Saturday night in New Orleans.

Head coach Ed Orgeron has not made any public announcement about suspension this week and said he would handle discipline internally during Wednesday's SEC Coaches Teleconference.

Players that could possibly be suspended for the opener include the three that were arrested this offseason and players that have been noticeably absent during extended periods of practice. Per The Advocate:
quote:

Three current players were arrested over the offseason, something that could lead to disciplinary action. That list includes offensive linemen Adrian Magee and Donavaughn Campbell and running back Lanard Fournette. Several players have missed a host of practices this month, including receiver Dee Anderson and edge rusher Sci Martin.

Meanwhile, in Bamaland, players caught driving around with stolen guns and drugs play consequence free.

My sources are saying the players are not being suspended. They are being withheld from play.

Or maybe Ed has complete control of this team. I promise you Ed O isn't going to do anything to hurt the team unless it is beyond his control. This was done on the inside so obviously he's confident that it sends a message without hurting the team. Killing two birds with one stone. Man you people are blind.

I don't think O put that much thought into it, or is capable of doing so.
