Longtime LSU defensive back coach Corey Raymond has agreed to a 3-year extension to remain with the school, according to Jimmy Smith with Tiger Details.

Raymond played at LSU from 1987–1991 and has been an assistant on LSU's staff since 2012. He is considered one of LSU's top recruiters.

The New Iberia native reportedly turned down a job offer from Texas A&M over the weekend.

Raymond's previous contract paid him $425,000 in 2018 and $450,000 this past season. His new deal is expected to pay him an average of $600,000 per season, according to Smith.

Should be DC but for some reason LSU don’t hire POC as coordinators smh

Did you really just say that? I think Coach E blows holes right in your argument.

You're right, I'd rather a young and up and coming assistant like this as DC than a Bo Pelini. I don't understand people on here with wanting a Pelini again all of a sudden. Smh

Honestly, if reports are true!!! It doesn't matter if he is DC or DB coach he is a big part of the Defense at LSU and he is back . After all the departed this is certainly a big boost going into next season.

Huge difference! If he was named DC this site would implode.

you are right site would implode but we need the best DC right now on the market if we can get whoever that is. Im not saying don't give him a shot..I'm just saying to have him back as DB coach is very big in itself. We will see what happens in the coming weeks ahead #GeauxTigers
